Foot pain and ankle pain
The foot and ankle are probably two of the most used joints in the body. Hence why many people often develop foot pain and ankle pain. When it comes to injuries incurred in sport, the ankle is one of the most commonly injured, with the inversion (lateral ankle) sprain being the most common injury.
At Mixed Osteo we see clients presenting to the clinic with both acute foot pain and ankle pain as well as chronic overuse related complaints resulting in foot pain and ankle pain. Acute foot pain and ankle pain may result from trauma i.e. ligament sprains, soft tissue strains, stress fractures, fractures, and chronic complaints resulting from overuse i.e. plantar fasciitis, shin splints ( posterior tibialis tendinopathy), compartment syndrome and achilles tendinitis.

Your Osteopath will provide you with a treatment and management plan that is appropriate for the injury or condition. This also includes listening to your goals as a client and ensuring that the treatment and management plan is discussed with you and focused towards you achieving these goals. Treatment and management may include manual therapy, movement therapy, exercise prescription, strength and conditioning and advice on your workplace ergonomics and manual handling.
In some cases, your Osteopath may be required to refer for further assessment and investigation.
