Sports Injuries and Treatment
Many of Mixed Osteo clients are active and this often means participation in competition or social sport. It is fair to say that our clinic is focused on attracting clients who are active and keen to take an active approach in their own treatment and management (this is why we are based in a Renegade MMA a mixed martial arts gym).
Some of the sports and hobbies that people undertake that present to Mixed Osteo include Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, MMA/UFC (mixed martial arts), Kickboxing, Boxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling, Judo Powerlifting and resistance training (gym), running, swimming, cycling, tennis, AFL, Rugby, walking etc etc. There are just too many to list here.

How can an Osteo / Osteopath at Mixed Osteo help you?
Your Osteo will take you through a detailed case history and assessment to help identify the cause of your injury, identify maintaining and aggravating factors and provide you with a diagnosis.
Your Osteopath will provide you with a treatment and management plan that is appropriate for the injury or condition. This also includes listening to your goals as a client and ensuring that the treatment and management plan is discussed with you and focused towards you achieving these goals. Treatment and management may include manual therapy, movement therapy, exercise prescription, strength and conditioning and advice on your workplace ergonomics and manual handling.
In some cases, your Osteopath may be required to refer for further assessment and investigation.
Your Osteo may provide hands on Osteopathy treatment, movement-based treatment or provide you with an exercise prescription/ rehabilitation program.
Your Osteopath will provide you with a treatment and management program that educates and shows you how to better manage your condition through stretching, mobility and strengthening where appropriate.
