Functional Osteo Treatment

A functional treatment takes into account your function.

An assessment at Mixed Osteo starts typically with gait analysis to get an overview of your global movement. Then we continue to look at your particular functional movements, be it walking, sitting, lifting, digging, exercise or martial arts-based movements ( kicking, punching, bridging, blocking, and sprawling ).

Paying close attention to the actions where you get pain or do not function as well. Following your functional assessment, we will undergo treatment if it is suitable for your condition.

Treatment typically occurs in those similar positions where you were successful and working towards where you were less successful or had pain. The treatment often takes place in our upright treatment table ( true-stretch cage).

From this treatment style, we can quickly provide you with take-home exercises that we know are safe for you to perform at home and get results because we tested them in the treatment!

Functional based treatment is based on Applied Functional Science (AFS) and Biomechanics principles utilising movement-based techniques called functional manual reaction (FMR). This method was learned over many years of studying through the Gray Institute, the world leaders in AFS. Assessing and treating your functional and body's mechanical insufficiencies gets the best results.
